At Fulbrook Care Limited we recognise that our staff are our greatest resourse. 

It is our policy to provide opportunities for training all of our workers in order that they can carry out their duties more effectively and develop their potential. 

Prior to working all our workers will be required to complete our Induction Programme.  In line with Skills for Care all Care Workers will be required to complete our Core Skills Induction Programme within 12 weeks of commencing work with us.  This Programme is competency based and is directly linked to the units of NVQ.

The areas that are covered in the Induction Programme generally fall into four categories:

• Legal, this relates to information that all of our new employees must knnow such as the
      health and safety arrangements

• Organisational, this relates to information about Fulbrook Care Ltd, such as team
      structure, ID protocol and dress code etc

• Vocational, which the carer needs to know about the job such as risk assessing and  
      accident reporting.
  
• Occupational, which relates to specific information about the sector e.g social care.

Our new carers are then linked with our more experienced staff who takes responsibility for them.  This will enable our new carers to put theory into practice under the supervision of their mentor.  We never let our new carers practice alone until we are confident that they have the skills and competency to do so.

Our new carers are then given further specific training and after the first 12 weeks enrolled on the NVQ in Health and Social Care.
